In memory of Dr. Ralph Kenna
It is with deep sadness that we inform you that on October 26, 2023, at the sixties year of his life, Ralph Kenna - a professor at Coventry University, an honorary doctor of our institute, a talented scientist, a friend of Ukraine , a kind and bright person - passed away. We express our sincere condolences to his family and to everyone who knew him. May he rest in peace.
The XVIII Annual Meeting of the Scientific Council “Physics of Soft Matter”
The XVIII Annual Meeting of the Scientific Council “Physics of Soft Matter” will be held on November 1 - 3, 2023 in Lviv in the premises of the Institute of Condensed Matter Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Sventsitskii Street, 1, Conference Hall).
Like all the previous ones, this year's meeting will focus on the discussion of current fundamental and applied problems of the physics of soft matter. Special emphasis will be placed on topics from the field of scientific interests of Prof. Myroslav Holovko, who is celebrating his 80th birthday these days. During the meeting, scientific reports and issues related to the coordination of research within the scope of the Scientific Council will be discussed.

Round table "Frontiers in Science: Hot topics in research, management, and financing"
Institute for Condensed Matter Physics initiates a one-day round table "Frontiers in Science: Hot topics in research, management, and financing", covering both scientific and other aspects of the research activity. We would like to present a "bird's view" on a current state of scientific research in general, including broad fields and the multidisciplinary context.
The pleasant occasion for this event is 60th birthday of Prof. Jaroslav Ilnytskyi, the head of dept. of Computer Simulations of Many-particle Sysyems.
The round table will take place on 10 October (Tuesday), 10:30-17:00 (Ukrainian time) in a mixed format: live + online. The working language is English.

WORKSHOP «Dynamics and Thermodynamics of Disordered and High-Pressure Matter (TB60)»
On September 29, 2023, the Institute for Condensed Matter Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (ICMP) will be hosting the International Workshop «Dynamics and Thermodynamics of Disordered and High-Pressure Matter (TB60)», dedicated to the 60th anniversary of D.Sc. Taras Bryk. The Workshop will be held in a hybrid format simultaneously at the conference hall of ICMP (1 Svientsitskii str., room 307) and remotely online. Doctor Honoris Causa of the ICMP R. Folk has been conferred the Golden Doctorate of the University of Vienna
In March 2023, prominent scholar in the field of statistical and condensed matter physics, Doctor Honoris Causa and Supervisory Board member of the ICMP, Dr. Reinhard Folk (Linz, Austria) has been conferred the Golden Doctorate of the University of Vienna. The Ising lectures 2022 took place in Lviv
Ising lectures 2022 – the 24th Workshop on complex systems, phase transitions and critical phenomena – have been organized by the Institute for Condensed Matter Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in Lviv on May 17 – May 19, 2022. The lectures were organized by a group of young scientists from ICMP – Oksana Dobush, Khrystyna Haydukivska, Mar’jana Krasnytska, Dmytro Shapoval and academician of NAS of Ukraine Yuriy Holovatch. This year the Workshop occurred online.
Ising Lectures 2022
On May 17-19, 2022 Ising Lectures will take place at the MS Teams platform. Ising Lectures is an annual workshop on complex systems, phase transitions and critical phenomena orientated mostly towards young scientists.
