THE QUANTUM PROPERTIES OF A PARTICLE NEAR A NON-METALLIC SURFACE

An exact sollit on of the Schrodinger equation for a hydrogen-like atom near a hard wall is obtained in the adiabatic approximation. The energy spectrum and the wave functions are studied. The influence of finiteness of the potential barrier on the quantum properties of the hydrogen atom is investigated. Simple approximations of the energy and the wave functions in the ground state are found. Basing on the results obtained, the quantum properties of a hydrogen-like molecule and a helium-like atom near a hard wall are examined.
