Title: Editorial

Dear colleagues,

We start the new, 2021, publishing year and hope for your active involvement and collaboration throughout the year: as readers, contributors and referees of the journal ``Condensed Matter Physics''. Together with you, we hope to be able to keep high professional standards of the papers published in our journal and for our prompt reaction to the new trends and problems that emerge in the field. We always welcome the broadening of the geography of our contributors and are glad to greet new contributors to our journal.

Please keep in touch with our web page http://www.icmp.lviv.ua/journal/, where the latest news and updates will appear. In particular, we plan to update our Editorial board to broaden and strengthen the journal expertise in specific topics of ever evolving Condensed Matter Physics field.

Starting from 2021, our journal is aiming on active support of the Open Science initiatives, such as I4OA (https://i4oa.org/) and I4OC (https://i4oc.org/). In particular, we are going to enrich the metadata of both newly and previously published papers, to open up our references, and to keep following the other aspects of the Open Science initiatives. Another aspect of our presence in the global digital infrastructure is related to the Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID, https://orcid.org/). Since 2021, the ORCID for primary and/or corresponding authors become mandatory and strongly advisable for the other authors as well. The support for the ORCID is added to the updated journal LaTeX style cmpj3.sty and template, as well as, some other modifications and improvements are introduced in response to the authors requests since the last update, which took place in 2017.

Let us ascertain all our prolific contributors that we are looking forward to your hot topics in Physics, and not only, under the spotlight. Here, we would like to mention the three most cited works published in Condensed Matter Physics and wish their authors a further scientific success in their respective fields:

• Effects of particle distribution on mechanical properties of magneto-sensitive elastomers in a homogeneous magnetic field, by: Ivaneyko D., Toshchevikov V., Saphiannikova M., Heinrich G., 2012, 15, No. 3, 33601.

• Extreme emulsification: formation and structure of nanoemulsions, by: Mason T.G., Graves S.M., Wilking J.N., Lin M.Y., 2007, 9, No. 1, 193-199.

• Exact solution of the mixed spin-1/2 and spin-S Ising-Heisenberg diamond chain, by: Canova L., Strečka J., Lucivjansky T., 2009, 12, No. 3, 353-368.

We cordially invite you to submit your research works either as regular contributions, rapid communications or the review papers. Publishing is performed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC-BY) license as an Open Access media with no processing fees involved. Submission is done online via the Open Journal System, which enables one to simplify the communication routine and trace the stage of the publication. More details can be found online on our webpage http://www.icmp.lviv.ua/journal/.

In 2021 we plan to publish one special issue in honor of our colleague and friend, Prof. Y. Kalyuzhnyi, and three regular issues.

We wish you all a successful and fruitful, disease-free, year 2021.

Your CMP team.
