THE WORKSHOP

The Workshop "Modern Problems of Soft Matter Theory" (WSMT) is organized by the
Institute for Condensed Matter Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in honour of the founder of the Institute, prominent Ukrainian physicist Professor Ihor Yukhnovskii on the occasion of his 75th birthday. The Workshop will take place in Lviv (Ukraine) from August 27 to August 31, 2000.

 The main topics include:

  • theory of self-assembling systems;
  • critical phenomena in mixtures, ionic and polymer solutions;
  • theory of complex and quantum fluids: equilibrium and dynamic properties.
The scientific sessions start on Monday morning, August 28th, and end on Thursday midday, August 31th. The programme includes invited talks (30 min), contributed talks (15-20 min) and posters (90 X 120 cm).

Slide and overhead projectors will be provided for presentations in all rooms. Additional audio/visual equipment requests should be made by email following the instructions on the registration form. If you do not order the required equipment in advance, we cannot guarantee that it will be available.

 The working language of the Workshop is English, no simultaneous translation will be provided.

 The aim of the Workshop is to provide a forum where scientists from the whole world can present and discuss their research work in the general field of soft matter physics.

 Organizing Committee has the pleasure to invite all scientists interested in this field of research to attend the Workshop.

The Workshop will be held in the Suputnyk HoteI (JSTC "LVIV-SUPUTNYK",  116, Kniahynia Olha Str.
Lviv, Ukraine) . Lviv is the main city of Western Ukraine. It can be easily reached by train, car or plane. Plane connection via Warsaw is recommended.
