The 4-th Conference “Statistical Physics: Modern Trends and Applications” will be held on July 3–6, 2012, in Lviv, Ukraine. This Conference continues a tradition of the regular international meetings in the statistical physics in Ukraine, established in the 1970-ies and renewed by “Statistical Physics” (Lviv, 2005), (Kharkiv, 2006) and (Lviv, 2009).

Institute for Condensed Matter Physics of NAS of Ukraine will hold a workshop on problems of high-performance computing and Ukrainian grid infrastructure development.

The workshop will take a place in the ICMP Conference hall (1 Svientsitskii Str.) on December 7, 2011, at 10:00 a.m.

The diploma Doctor honoris causa of the Institute for Condensed Matter Physics will be presented to Prof. Ivan Vakarchuk (Lviv, Ukraine) on Friday, 30.09.2011 during a solemn ceremony that will take place in the ICMP Conference hall (1 Svientsitskii Str.) at 2:00 p.m.

Prof. Vakarchuk will give a lecture: "On correspondence between classical physical quantities and quantum-mechanical operators".
