1st Workshop "Complex network concept in problems of quantum physics and cosmology"
1st Workshop "Complex network concept in problems of quantum physics and cosmology" will take place on 26 December 2017 in ICMP. The Workshop is organized in the frames and under support of the Project DFFD №76/105-2017 (0117U003869). Within the project we plan to use the methods of complex network theory for the explanation and quantitative description of behavior of matter on different space and time scales.

Solemn ceremony of Doctor honoris causa diploma awarding
The diploma Doctor honoris causa of the Institute for Condensed Matter Physics will be presented to Vojko Vlachy (Ljubljana, Slovenia) on Tuesday, 24.10.2017 during a solemn ceremony that will take place in the ICMP Conference hall (1 Svientsitskii Str.) at 3:30 p.m.
Dr. Vojko Vlachy will give a lecture: Modeling aggregation and solvation of proteins in aqueous salt solutions.
Ising Lectures 2017
On June 14-16, 2017 Ising Lectures will take place at the Conference Hall of the Institute for Condensed Matter Physics. Ising Lectures are an annual workshop on modern problems of phase transitions and critical phenomena orientated mostly towards young scientists.

Ulam Computer Simulations Workshop
On the occasion of 70 years anniversary from the invention of the Monte Carlo method there will be held in Lviv the Ulam Computer Simulations (UCS) workshop on challenges and opportunities in molecular simulations. The aim of this first UCS Workshop is twofold. First of all, we are looking forward to paying tribute to the legacy of Ulam for his pioneering contribution to the development of the field of computer simulations. Secondly, we wish to bring together leading researchers on computer simulations of soft matter and to offer the young researchers and graduate students an in-depth review of the most recent developments in the field that poses many challenges nowadays.

on the occasion of conferring on him the degree of Doctor honoris causa. of the ICMP.

In memory of Jean-Pierre Badiali
After a serious illness, our colleague and good friend Jean-Pierre Badiali passed away on April 15, 2016, in the afternoon. His death is a great loss to all of us and the whole scientific community. We express our deepest condolences to the family of J.‑P. Badiali, colleagues and friends. Jean-Pierre will remain in our memory as an outstanding scientist and an incredibly good person.
